Getting to know Merl

Why are we here? We are here to learn and evolve as beings. While the ego/mind has worked well in helping us to survive and acquire, it knows nothing about why we are here. We can only answer that question by getting to know a part of us, which is commonly called Self or Higher Self, and to potentially move into the spiritual realm called the No Self. I work with my clients to get to know each important part of who we are and in the process meet our real life purpose to learn and evolve.

Merl is one of a new breed of Life Coach/Counselor. He combines both approaches to create positive, definable results to any change in a person’s life.

Merl has a Masters degree in mental health counseling from the University of Colorado. He is a registered counselor in the state of Colorado. Merl has been both a professional coach and counselor for over 20 years and has now focused his practice on helping clients to learn and evolve to their life purpose. In counseling Merl utilizes the newest approaches in Compassion-focused therapy (CFT), Emotionally Focused therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness techniques, and Awakening Awareness approaches and techniques. Merl also uses EMDR, polyvagal, and Dialectic therapy techniques in the treatment of the burdens of past and current trauma. Merl finally can assist with mindfulness training that facilitates all aspects of change and evolution, especially in spiritual development.

Merl resides now in Tucson, Arizona and provides individual and couples counseling via Internet sessions using Zoom.

“Over the years I have come to understand that the inability to evolve is the common element whenever people seem to loose focus and direction for their life and are suffering. Whether it is work, relationships, health, finances, a spiritual crisis or a recent trauma that causes us to begin to suffer, forcing us to leave our comfort zone. When this happens we may seek to escape using substance abuse to mask the suffering. I have focused my work on supporting individual evolution because I believe that once a person becomes proficient in using a proven model for sustained, personal growth and evolution they can successfully handle anything that comes their way.” Merl  Will-Wallace, MA
